Eberechukwu Emereuwa, a military man, was one of the Nigerian military personnel killed by unknown gunmen in Owerri, Imo State on Saturday, May 29.

According to SaharaReporters, Emereuwa was from Obizi community, Ezinihitte, Mbaise in Imo State.

 

He was shot dead by the unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

 

Also on Saturday, five military men were killed in Ihiala, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, by people suspected to be IPOB members.

 

The military personnel were killed in the early hours of Saturday.

 

Consequently, military personnel blocked the River Niger Bridge, Onitsha, obstructing traffic flow in and out of the state as a result, according to eyewitnesses.
