Some former militants in Isoko Community in the Isoko South Local Government Areas of Delta State have given the Nigerian government 24 hours to settle them or they will blow off all the oil wells in their communities.

According to the ex-militants in a video shared by Koko TV Nigeria and seen by SaharaReporters, despite their communities playing host to the highest number of oil wells, the government has marginalised them in every aspect including in amnesty.

The leader of the ex-militants who identified himself as General Do Good, said that whereas the government had been paying attention to people of Ijaw community, they of Isoko had been sidelined as if they did not exist.

He added that they had kept calm for a long time but if the government failed to meet with them and address the issue within 24 hours, they would blow off every oil well in Isoko South.

The ex-militants’ general with his face covered and surrounded by two others in the same dressing with various sophisticated weapons said, “I’m General Do Good. We have been marginalised for a long time. It is not the only Ijaw that has oil in the so-called Niger Delta. We the Isoko, we have the largest part of oil producing areas but even in the amnesty, we did not show face.

“In anything at all, we did not show face. We even heard that there is a surveillance slot, till now, we the Isoko have not seen ours. So, for that reason, within 24 hours, if they do not call us and see to the issue, we will blow every single well in Isoko South.”
