There is panic in the United Kingdom following the rushing of Prince Charles and Prince William to Queen Elizabeth's side after Buckingham Palace revealed doctors were "concerned" for her health on Thursday.

This comes a few days after the Queen met with Ms Liz Truss, the 15th Prime Minister of her 70-year reign, at Balmoral.

It was gathered, Her Majesty, aged 96, is said to be held in Balmoral where she remains under medical supervision.

The Queen's immediate family members have been informed, according to the palace.

Clarence House confirmed the report, saying Prince Charles and Camilla have already arrived in Scotland.

As concerns about the monarch's health deepen, Prince William is also on his way to the Scottish estate, the Sun UK reports.

Princess Anne, who is already in Scotland for other engagements, will join them at the Queen's side.

A statement said today: "Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

"The Queen remains comfortable at Balmoral."

In October, the Queen's trip to Northern Ireland was cancelled after she spent a night in hospital for "preliminary investigations."

Due to a sprained back, she also opted out of attending the Festival of Remembrance and the Remembrance Sunday Cenotaph service.

Her Majesty had to skip the regular Maundy Thursday and Easter Mattins church services as well.

However, she surprised royal fans in June when she appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Meanwhile, mixed reactions, particularly from politicians, have begun to trail the Queen's ill-health lately.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said: "Along with the rest of the country, I am deeply worried by the news from Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

"My thoughts are with Her Majesty the Queen and her family at this time, and I join everyone across the United Kingdom in hoping for her recovery."

While The Archbishop of Canterbury said the "prayers of the nation" are with the Queen.
